From the Big Apple to the City of Angels, EMERGE 2.0 demonstrated the power of the AIGA community to rally around a shared mission. The following is a snapshot of how local chapters implemented digital and in-person content and programming in support of emerging designers.
AIGA West Michigan
AIGA West Michigan hosted three events: a studio tour, a “night shift,” and a back-to-back presentation event featuring Lydia VanHoven, Senior Copywriter at the Grey Matter Group and Naomi Silas, Principle of Seventh Creative.
AIGA St. Louis
St. Louis hosted a panel discussion on career journeys and a week of Instagram takeovers featuring local emerging designers such as Delores Eddington. It also featured EMERGE as part of the launch of its podcast, STL by Design.
AIGA Mobile partnered with Design Recharge to host a special in-person podcast recording featuring four designers for a panel discussion on scaling your design career.
AIGA Los Angeles
The LA chapter spotlighted emerging designers through a video discussion series that covered a diverse array of topic areas including diversity and inclusion and career pathways. See Sam’s Emerging Voices video interview here. Take a look at the entire LA EMERGE campaign on their Instagram page.

Office Hours: WDG
WDG, a strategy design and development firm based in Arlington, VA. Creative Director, Dario Tardic shared his emerging designer story and guidance for emerging designers through experience building powerful, and engaging digital presence for organizations.
Journey: A Roundtable and Panel Discussion
The event kicked off with the community sitting in roundtables and giving them an opportunity to talk about their emerging designer story. Following, the audience listened to panelists and a moderator who are all local creative leaders share about their creative journey.
